DAY-TO-NIGHT
This month, I partnered with First Canadian Place and Exchange Tower and boy did they put me to the test - styling a look that can go from day-to-night! Luckily, I had three phenomenal retailers to choose from, all of them conveniently located in the heart of downtown Toronto.
When it comes to my personal style, it is always evolving. However, I'm currently fixated on keeping my wardrobe monochromatic. This helps me to mix and match everything I own, so I get the most bang for my buck. #wink
In order to take your look from day-to-night, think of your base layers as a blank canvas that you can build on. I always start off with basics, keeping them neutral in colour. First, I found the perfect pair of tapered moto jeans from Express Men. I loved that the jeans were grey, which deviates from your standard black and blue, and that the moto type detailing around the knees elevates them from your basic flat denim with ripped knees (I do love a good ripped knee, #trust). What's on top? I chose a soft cotton tee from Sisley that fit like a dream. A graphic tee is the best way to take something so simple - a t-shirt and jeans - and give it something extra. For shoes, I found a classic black chelsea boot from Loding.
Getting your look from day-to-night is where the challenge comes in. What is a simple trick? Layer a special piece, like a sports coat, blazer, or even a moto jacket on top of your daytime outfit. If you've taken my advice, and have kept your base layers neutral, this new addition to your outfit will help to elevate your overall look and take you well in to the night. Pictured above, you can see that I took a black crew neck sweat shirt from Sisley, to help frame the beautiful blazer I picked up at Express Men. I also swapped out my chelsea boot for another one in Loding's fantastic selection. This one has a buckle strap around the ankle, which just gives it that final touch. And made me feel sexy.
With so many phenomenal stores all in one location, it really does becomes a one-stop shop. Also, check out the video I shot for the campaign below.
